I am seeing that people are starting to complain on the app “Nextdoor” about going early voting being told that they are not registered to vote, even though they have been register for years. The problem seem to be connected to our Drivers license. I am a registered Republican for years. I am 81 years of age, so I have to renew my license every year. My wife had a Stroke so had to surrender her driver’s for a State license. We did that yesterday, 10/8/2024, in order to vote. I have become a little concern since it has happened to me in the past.
In the last Primary, I did absentee voting, only to be told after voting was over that my vote didn’t count Since I didn’t put down my Birthday date. I did give the date, but noted that the state gave instructions on each line of information they wanted, except the format on how to write down your Bithday date. I think that there is about 4 ways of doing that. Obviously I used the wrong format.
The result of that, I was notified to late to go vote in person and my efforts to vote was not counted. Since it was a Primary voting and very few Republicans, I was upset but decided that in person voting is the closes way to be sure to get my vote counted. I no longer believe that even though the voting machine shows that I did vote that in the end it my not be, if it doesn’t show a Democratic win. I would also like to think that all of our Republicans are really Republicans and not just Democratic sleepers within the party to make it look like we have a two party system. I believe in a honest two party system is the only way for a free society. Thank you for reading this even if it is only for thought.

My name is Carl – I have voted RED in the last 3 Presidential elections but having moved to ABQ, NM in the last 8 months I made sure I was registered at the MVD in ABQ. I went to vote and they said there was a problem with my Social Security number – I had to drive back home and get my 50 year old SS card and brought it back and then they said they could not give me a ballot because they couldn’t find me in the system so I produced (an original Birth Certificate) and the receipt from the MVD proving I registered and after 2 and a half hours I was finally given a ballot – question? Would this have happened if I wasn’t old and White?
